In a call to the UN the Palestinian Civil Organizations Consortium declares severe hunger, and warns of the catastrophic implications, especially to children, women and the elderly.  Already in March 2024 UN data showed that 24% of Gaza’s population was on the verge of starvation. At the time, at least 24 children died as a result of malnutrition. At that time, Israel allowed 20% aid compared to the pre-war era. In March 2025, Israel stopped all aid from entering the Gaza strip. Since then the Health Ministry reported 60,000 children who suffer from malnutrition.

The Israeli supreme court allowed the State to ignore international law, and approved the blockade of aid, a decision that will cause death and serious health conditions for babies and children. Civilians, and especially children, women and the elderly are the main victims of this policy. As Israeli citizens we are calling on our government to immediately cease this criminal starvation policy.

The Palestinian Civil Organizations Consortium reported the following data:

91% of Gaza’s population suffer from food insecurity at level 3/5.

345,000 Gazans are declared at level 5.

92% of babies and toddlers under the age of two, as well as nursing mothers suffer from malnutrition, with predictable and preventable medical effects in their future.

65% of Gaza’s population do not have access to the minimum amount of clean water, 6 litres a day for drinking and cooking.
